THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN...

ENGLISH VERSION OF THE INTERVIEW AFTER THE FRENCH ONE...

First question : why this album 13 years after the recording of Heroes For Sale ?
We re-united as a band 2006 and did a tour and as time went by we just felt like we wanted to record a new album.

How did you get signed by Metal Heaven ? And for how many albums ? Several, I hope…
We got signed to Metal Heaven in 2008 after songs from the album was sent around to different labels. We liked Metal Heaven and they seem to like us. I think our deal is a two album contract.

The Scandinavian Sleaze scene is very active : Crashdiet, Backyard Babies, Crazy Lixx, Hardcore Superstar…etc. Was it another motivation to come back ?
No, not really we never actually cared about other bands. But in a way it’s good that bands that play our kind of music is around. It just makes the scene bigger. We just wanted to play again.

The songs are really good and this album sounds like being recorded just after Cruel Intentions. Is it all brand new material or did you use some old ideas or demos you had kept “in case of …” ?
All the material is totally brand new. We don’t got a any old demos laying around and if we did we felt like we wanted to show that we could do something new.

Listening to Boys Town without knowing who you are, the listener would probably think you’re a new band ‘cause I really felt some motivation and energy… Do you agree ?
Yes, totally. In some way we feel like this is our first album. Our last album “Heroes For Sale” was recorded so long ago that we don’t even remember it ever been recorded.
We had to start all over and pull it off from a new perspective.

How was it to get reunited in the studio after such a long time ? How were the recording and mixing processes ?
It all went down very good. It was all easy to work together again. We just plugged in and played from our hearts. There was never no discussion in wich way to go.

The music business has changed a lot since your split. A lot of young bands play that kind of music, there is internet … What do you think about this situation compared to the 80’s ?
If it was the 80’s we would be more rich..ha ha. I loved the times in the 80’s where you went into your record store a bought a new album. It was like a happening. Nowadays it’s just like too much downloading and consuming. But on the other hand you’ll can easily by a click hear new music and promote you own music.

What are your touring projects ?
After the album release we’re doing a tour but in this moment we don’t know where it will take us.

What would you tell to the youngest Sleaze fans who just know the new bands ? To give’ em the desire to buy your album ?

Don’t fool yourselves, kids ! Buy the originals !
